What
Hope Academy offers an Enrichment Program to its students on Fridays throughout the school year. This program offers extra-curricular courses such as Art, Music Theory, ASL, Science Labs, Games & Logic, Lego Robotics, Programming, Drama, Home Economics, Debate & Public Speaking, etc. and varies from quarter to quarter.
Who
These courses are not only offer to our enrolled students but also to home school families who are seeking enrichment courses for their child’s educational experience.
These courses are led by Hope Academy staff as well as community volunteers.
The program currently meets at Firm Family church, which is located at 2201 Pillsbury Rd Ste 150, Chico, CA 95926 on Fridays from 8:30-3:00 PM

How
Registrations are completed online. Families are welcome to enroll their child to as many or as few of the courses offered.
2026-2027 Q1 Enrichment Schedule
First Quarter Enrichment begins Friday, August 21st and goes through Friday October 16th.

Choir (K-8): Join us as we start out our day with learning a hymn each week as a whole school.
Reading Buddies (K-5): Connecting lower elementary students with upper elementary students as they spend time reading together.
Bible Groups (6-8): Fellowship with other middle schoolers in a small group setting as you read scripture together, have a time for group led discussion questions, and pray for one another.
Music & Rhythm (K-2): Bang some drums! Shake some maracas! Come sing and dance and learn some rhythm!
Around the World (3-5): Come join us on a wild adventure as we explore the many beautiful cultures of the world!
Creative Writing (6-8): If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to be a better writer, poet, or story teller, this is the enrichment class for you!
Music Theory (6-8): Do you love music? Want to write your own songs, but don’t know where to start? Are you intimidated by chords, scales, and sheet music? Have no fear! Join us for this fun, interactive class where we take a introductory dive into music theory.
American Sign Language (K-2): This fun class will be a delightful introductory course for any young friends who want to learn typical family signs, their ABCs in ASL, and about deaf culture.
Drama/Theater (3-5): Calling all thespians! Join us as we learn the basics of drama and begin preparations for our Christmas Showcase event this December.
Art (6-8): Come dive into the wonderful world of art! In this class you explore a variety of mediums ranging from water-color, charcoal, clay, and much more!
Public Speaking & Debate (6-8): In a world full of rhetoric and noisy ideas, come learn how to speak calmly, clearly, and confidently in a safe but rewarding environment.
Arts & Crafts (K-2): Whether it’s drawing, coloring, bead-work, or any other of our amazing options, come enjoy making some fun art projects!
Lego Challenge (K-5): Recruiting All Master Builders! Come build Lego with us in this exciting class.
Heroes of the Faith (K-2): Explore the wonderful stories of men and women in the past who lived bold lives for Christ.
Arts & Crafts (3-5): Whether it’s drawing, coloring, bead-work, or any other of our amazing options, come enjoy making some fun art projects!
Home Economics (6-8): The art of homemaking is nearly lost! Study cooking, linen care, home finances, and much more in this hands on class.
Programming (6-8): Learn the language of the future! Come build a computer game, design an animation, or whatever you fancy in this interactive and creative class.
Stop-Motion Animation (6-8): Go through the entire creative process of story-boarding, planning, photographing, and editing to tell your original story!
Science Lab (K-2): Any aspiring scientists are welcome to join our Science Lab class where there will be ample opportunity to perform some exciting experiments!
Logic Lab (3-8): Practice your logic, reason, and strategic skills as we do puzzles and play board games and card games.

For Hope Academy students, these courses are included in their tuition and enrollment.
For home school families, registration is a flat fee of $300 per quarter for your child. Subsequent siblings are $150 each per quarter.
Tuition is assessed per family, per academic quarter, regardless of the number of enrichment classes selected.
Tuition is a flat quarterly rate and is not prorated based on:
The number of classes selected.
Days attended.
Late enrollment during the quarter.
Student absences.
Voluntary withdrawal.

Community members are also welcome to teach an Enrichment Course that they are passionate about! Just reach out to us directly to inquire the process of doing so.
As an educational non-profit, we ensure the safety of our students. All applicants and volunteers must undergo a background check.

Home school families are welcome to drop-off their child during their enrolled classes or are welcome to sit in as well during the duration of their enrolled classes.
